Yossi Abolaia is a renowned author and illustrator of children's books, as well as a talented cartoonist.
He has an extensive background in the entertainment industry, having worked as a director, screenwriter, and animator for Israeli TV, Canadian TV, the Canadian Film Service, and independently in New York.

Additionally, he created a satirical comic strip for the daily Maariv and was the head of the animation department at the prestigious Bezalel Academy of Art.

Yossi has illustrated over 150 books since the seventies, which have achieved commercial success through multiple editions, generating pro ts over time. He collaborated with
well-known authors in the US and Israel, including Meir Shalev, Ephraim Sidon, Jack Perlutsky, Barbara Ann Forte, and more.

His contributions to the world of illustration have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Andersen Prize for Illustration twice, the Ben Zvi Prize twice,
and the Nahum Gutman Prize for Illustration in 1993.

As an accomplished animator, Abola a approaches book illustration as if he were storyboarding for animation. He believes that the experience of moving between pages is
essential to capturing the reader's imagination.
